Christmas Bundles of Joy in Taptap!
On Sunday December 9 2018, the Rotary Club of Cebu East undertook its annual Bundles of Joy mission. This time, we went to the mountain barangay of Taptap, a village about 25 miles from the center of Cebu City.
Altogether, we distributed 202 bags of food, consisting of noodles, rice, sardines, coffee, spaghetti sauce, and other necessities, ensuring that the kind people of Taptap will have ample culinary provisions during this festive Christmas season. We express our special thanks to all of those who donated, and who participated in making this day such a success! As always, we’d like to especially thank Club members Alex Gaisano and George Yao, for the use of Gaisano Country Mall’s facilities and services.
Cebu East President Derick Bulkley gave a thoughtful opening address, and then led the entire assemblage in a rendition of Jingle Bells. After that, the companions and wives of the Rotarians did a stellar dance performance which got the crowd on its feet!
After the bags were distributed, the residents of Taptap provided the Rotarians with sweet corn, a delicacy of their village.
