Christmas Mission at CARE school in Cordova!

December 18, 2017

Cebu East Rotarian Antonio Chua hands out the first Bundles of Joy bags to CARE students!

On Sunday December 17, the Rotary Club of Cebu East conducted its annual Christmas visit to the Cordova Alternative Resource for Education (CARE) school complex on Mactan Island. Once again, we had the opportunity to share Christmas joy and bags full of food with children who have been dealt a rougher hand in life.

As always, the event was subsidized by RC Cebu East Past President Nick Tajale. Special thanks to Nick and the Tajale family for their generosity! We also had the support of the inspiring Teacher Maricor, who helped organize the event and who is the tutor for all 40+ students.

The schoolchildren were given a lunch, kindly provided by Nick, and then bags consisting of spaghetti noodles and sauce, cans of fish, rice, juice, and other items. They also gave a dance performance.
