RCCE Makes Donation to School in Carcar

On Sunday September 10, the Rotary Club of Cebu East visited Saay Elementary School in a remote mountainous region of Carcar to donate money for much-needed repairs. The money will be used for installing new electricity systems, windows, roofs, and other essentials.
RCCE President Tom McKinley, Club Secretary Joop van Kessel, and Racquel van Kessel were given a very warm welcome by the school. The ceremony consisted of songs played by the school band, speeches by School Principal Mario Dazo and McKinley, the handover of funds, and the awarding of a certificate. We then sat down to a very nice lunch and were given a tour of the school.

Ms. Analyn Llegunas (second from left) served as the Project Coordinator and deserves special mention for her indefatigable efforts.
