The Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”, conveys the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s more than 1.2 million members in more than 34,000 clubs worldwide. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary across the globe. There’s something that all Rotary club members have in common: We take action. As community volunteers, we reach out to neighbors in need. We build, support, and organize. We save lives. We work locally and globally to make our community and the world a better place.
Our Rotary Club has focused on all the aspects of Rotary service, which fall within the following areas:
- Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water and sanitation
- Maternal and child health
- Basic education/literacy
We focus on Peace through Service in our local projects. Some examples of the projects our Club participates in include dental missions across Cebu Island, supporting various schools, conducting feeding missions to underprivileged districts, Christmas programs for children, college scholarships, offering livelihood projects, programs to eliminate dengue and polio, and many more local community projects.
What would it take to change the world? Rotarians believe it starts with a commitment to Service Above Self.
The Rotary Club of Cebu East is looking for international clubs with with which to partner, share resources and information, and conduct service projects.
Please see our Events section for information about past and current projects, or feel free to contact us to hear about upcoming missions!
