Successful Dental Mission in Alumnos Mambaling!
On Sunday April 22, the Rotary Club of Cebu East conducted a successful Dental Mission in Alumnos, Mambaling, Cebu City. This was our fourth Dental Mission for the Rotary year, and had the smooth efficiency of our previous missions.
Much of this is owing to our fellow Club member and dentist, Dr. Wilbert Uykingtian. Over the years, Dr. Wilbert has got the dental missions down to a science. The result is that each mission works like a well-oiled machine!
Of course, our missions are also triumphs because of the diligent and skillful work of Dr. Anne Perolino and our dental Rotaractors from Southwestern University. Dr. Anne and her dental students put 100% into each mission, and their enthusiasm and knowledge are indeed appreciated by the Club — and, of course, by the patients!
The Rotary Club of Cebu East also wants to heartily thank the Rotary Club of Campbelltown, Australia, who generously funded the mission. Present from RC Campbelltown was Mr. Kevin Parken, whom we’ve really enjoyed the chance to get to know.
At this mission, 200 individuals received treatment in the following areas:
- Dental consultation
- Dental cleaning
- Oral prophylaxis
- Dental Fillings
- Tooth extractions
Afterwards, the Rotarians and Rotaractors sat down to a nice lunch funded personally by members of RC Cebu East.
Finally, we’d like to thank our Club member, Mr. Joop van Kessel, and his wife Racquel, for organizing the mission with the barangay administration, who were extremely helpful.
A splendid event, all around! Here are some pictures from the mission:
